| Colortone is an emotionally intimate simultaneous look at life's youthful innocence and tragedy. Musically, Colortone draws inspiration from synth-pop, new age, film score, lullaby and pre-WWII crooner. The bubblegum-music versus no-hope-lyrics paradox seems to realize the conflict and childlike wonder that simultaneously occupy the mind of its creator.
Colortone released 2 full-length CD's (1999's "Constructive Stumblings" and 2000's "Lullabies For Starlets") before taking a long hiatus while Dickie concentrated on other musical pursuits. After 8 years, Dickie has revived the project and is back in the studio recording the 3rd Colortone cd (title TBD), scheduled for release in 2010. |
